Strategy // Leadership
Our group lacked cohesion and planning at points, so I stepped in to write and re-write our proposal and ensure that each team member was happy with their workload and able to complete set tasks within the set timelines. Furthermore, as I had the most experience with media and campaign production, I led discussions and brainstorm sessions on ways in which we could give our campaign transmedia elements and ensure we were doing more than merely running a Facebook page.
I recorded and produced interviews with two vegetarians and a vegan (see soundcloud link below) as well as commissioning and putting together a zine with recipes, reviews and anecdotes sourced from all 4 group members, and including segments of the interviews transcribed by Louisa.
Within our campaign evaluation, we discussed the challenges our group experienced with communication and meeting face-to-face and found some illuminating lessons surfaced.
Ultimately, I learnt a great deal about cross-disciplinary work, as well as the importance not only of setting tasks and deadlines, but ensuring that everyone is able to hold each other accountable to these deadlines, particularly when working collaboratively rather than within a heirarchical model.
